Equaliser vs AI automation platforms
The autonomous-AI class (the Pixis and Albert style of pitch, and the newer bulk-automation tools) sells a simple promise: hand over the keys and the AI runs your campaigns. Some teams want that. We built the opposite, on purpose: a platform that does strategist-grade analysis at machine scale and hands the decision to a human who stays accountable for it.
| Dimension | Automation platforms | Equaliser |
|---|---|---|
| Philosophy | Replace the work: the AI changes bids, budgets and campaigns for you, at bulk. | Empower the strategist: agents analyse, recommend and prepare; you decide. The user is the pilot. |
| Account access | Write access to your ad accounts is the product. You are trusting an opaque system with spend. | Equaliser reads your advertising data to analyse it. Google Ads offers no read-only permission, and the Meta connection includes ads management, so these connections can technically make changes. Equaliser changes an account only when your agency has switched that account on for changes, a named person has approved the exact change, and the platform has checked it first. Each change is limited in size, recorded with who approved it, read back from the platform, and can be undone. Accounts that are not switched on are never changed. Google Analytics is connected read-only. |
| When the AI is wrong | A wrong bulk change is live in your account before anyone reviews it. | A wrong recommendation is a graded miss on the record, and the agent that made it gets corrected. Nothing moved without you. |
| Explainability | Black-box optimisation by design: the change happens, and auditing why is rarely possible. | Every recommendation carries its evidence, its expected outcome, and later its grade. Your corrections become standing guidance the agents follow, visible in the product and revocable. |
| Accuracy governance | Accuracy is asserted, not measured against a stated expected outcome. | The receipts loop grades every executed change against its expected outcome, and the grade goes to you and your client either way. |
| Who gets smarter | The vendor’s model. The reasoning behind each change stays inside it. | Your team. Equaliser shows its working, so your team compounds account knowledge with every recommendation, and the strategist stays the strategist. |
Fair note: if you have no strategist and want none, full automation may suit you. Equaliser is for brands and agencies where a human owns the account and wants stronger evidence behind every decision.
